October 2019. Resounding success of the last Matchmaking Event held on October 1st and 2nd in Barcelona under the coordination of the Cluster of the Automotive Industry of Catalonia (CIAC). Focused on robotics and artificial intelligence, the event was attended by the Automotive Companies Cluster of Galicia (CEAGA), the Pôle Véhicule du Futur (PVF, France), the Automotive Cluster of Bulgaria (ACB), the Automotive Cluster of Serbia (ACS) and Silesia Automotive and Advanced Manufacturing (SAAM, Poland).
In the Matchmaking Event, a large number of representatives of SMEs and large companies from these countries, including the catalan territory, attended the event, which could establish inter-regional and networking links for smart specialization investments (ESCP- S3).
The main objective of the meeting was the implementation of joint activities to promote interregional business collaboration projects for innovation and investments (B2B strategy) and the implementation of joint activities to strengthen cluster cooperation between the partners themselves (B2C strategy). In this sense, successful projects were shared between companies that have, on the one hand, a project concept and, on the other, an interest in finding synergies with other initiatives.
Regarding the timeline, on October 1st, a visit was held at Erni Consulting headquarters in Spain. In the afternoon, at the Room Mate Gerard Hotel, there was a welcome ceremony led by CIAC president Mr. Josep Maria Vall and the project coordinator Clotilde Nadé. Coen Antens of the CVC made a speech about artificial intelligence before giving way to a workshop to deal with the project concepts in greater depth.
On the second day there were several presentations that deal with the theme of the event and that were part of the closing meeting about industrial competitiveness projects at the Nissan Brand Center. The day ended with a matchmaking session, where work meetings were held between the assisting companies in order to finish working the project concepts.
